About nSight®

Our mission

nSight, formerly Editorial Services of New England (ESNE), was founded in 1982 to meet the need for exceptional writing and editing services. Our mission is to ensure that you communicate with clarity, efficiency, and accuracy. We believe that carefully crafted words are the key to creating and distributing compelling content—from educational products to business documents.

Our workplace

nSight is the type of place where people are friendly and sincere, where we think of each other as part of an extended family, and where a balanced work/home life is encouraged and supported. We empower our team members to chart their own course as they grow professionally and personally.

We have the benefit of being more nimble and responsive compared to some large organizations. We can adapt to customer needs and market pressures at a moment’s notice and provide an exciting and entrepreneurial work environment for our staff. We’re flexible and scalable to deliver innovative editorial services—any way you need them—with quality you can count on.

Our values

Respect. We treat others with dignity and respect.
Partnership. Good business relationships guarantee our continued success.
Accountability. We stand by our work.
Diligence. We believe that every detail matters, no matter how small.
Responsiveness. We work with a sense of urgency.

It comes down to people. I absolutely think the world of Tess.
She genuinely wants to make sure that every client succeeds.
I’ll even take the word ‘client’ out and say she wants to make sure that I succeed.
She wants to make sure that nSight puts forward the best service so that Bill succeeds.

Our team

Tess Kastning

Tess Kastning, Owner and CEO

I spend my time running in the pack with my team to provide extraordinary services for our clients and exceptional support for our consultants. My goal is to enable both our clients and our consultants to meet and exceed their professional goals. My passion is to create a compassionate, thriving work environment that balances financial and personal health and growth. I have been in a senior leadership role since the early 1990s and have had the privilege of coaching dozens of CEOs with my “carefrontation” approach. Accountability starts at the top! I am grateful to have worked in the boardroom, where real change affects the lives of so many. My values are simple: honesty, hard work, and treating people well. Outside of work, I like to turn off my left brain. I paint, compose music, study ornithology, and travel to Europe whenever I can. I am blessed with one son, who lives in Switzerland with his wife.

Stephen M. Fenton, PMP

Steve Fenton, Manager of Premium Editorial Services

I manage all aspects of content development and quality assurance, and I also oversee EDITEXPRESS®, our quick-turnaround Copyediting and Proofreading service. Several years ago, after weeks of intensive study and a rigorous four-hour exam, I earned my Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI). I value the relationships I’ve developed with our contractors over the years. I respect their experience, their skills, and their time—I’m honored to partner with them! I also consider our clients as partners, and they motivate me to deliver high-quality, on-time work for them, each and every time. Outside of work…I’m a pretty boring guy! Our Miniature Schnauzer requires lots of attention, and I enjoy taking on home projects, pleasure reading, and visits from family.

Cindy Schott, M.Ed.

Cindy Schott, Senior Instructional Designer

I provide instructional design expertise across a variety of content projects. I am also a Subject Matter Expert and Course Writer, and provide Quality Assurance standards for eLearning courses. My career spans various industries and includes roles in Project Management, Education Services, Process Improvement, and Operational Management. I have participated in the evolution of eLearning and blended learning approaches, and I truly enjoy partnering with clients to help them develop continuous improvement processes and instill a culture of learning in their organizations. I am a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), Quality Matters, and several eLearning forums. In my free time, I manage a nonprofit animal-rescue organization, volunteer with other nonprofits, mentor others in business, and spend time with my family.

Steven Ryals, Senior Quality Assurance & Interactive Media Project Manager

I manage quality assurance projects, create websites, convert digital assets to fit new requirements, transcribe presentations and audio tracks, illustrate data and storyboards, and edit images. I have worked on a variety of projects through nSight, drawing on my experience in writing, publishing, design, and quality assurance. I enjoy learning how things work and discovering ways to improve them. Visual arts inspire me; photography is my main creative pursuit.

Starcia Melara

Starcia Melara, Accounting Manager

I manage all aspects of accounting, including forensic accounting, accounts payable and receivables, and payroll. I have worked in accounting positions for almost 20 years because numbers don’t lie! I welcome the challenge of researching, finding, and reconciling accounting issues and get great satisfaction when all the figures match up. In 2020, I pursued a degree in psychology, where I learned valuable lessons about empathy, compassion, and working with people. I use these lessons to ensure our clients and contractors are treated with respect, high regard, and personalized, individual attention. Outside of work, I am a mom to three great human beings—a son and two daughters. Traveling and crafting are two of my favorite things. I have been to many places in the US and around the world, and I love to craft gifts, cards, clothing, and home décor.

Helen DeAndrade

Helen DeAndrade, Marketing Consultant

I am responsible for nSight’s marketing communications. I work behind the scenes to ensure nSight and its offerings are clearly represented online and in print. I’m delighted to bring my 30+ years of experience marketing products and services for global giants Oracle, Bose, and Assa Abloy to smaller businesses, startups, and community groups. Years ago I defined my life purpose as “Delivering experiences that inform, inspire, and delight.” I try to fulfill that purpose in everything I do, whether I’m designing a website, leading a group fitness class, or baking the perfect chocolate cake. I live outside of Boston with my husband Steve (chief cake taster) and pugs Huck and Maggie.
